Motorola MOTO Z10

The Motorola MOTO Z10 represents a straightforward upgrade of the MOTO Z8, and it manages to overcome many of the shortcomings of the Z8 while retaining most of the good features of the previous model.

We will say from the outset that we're not keen on the MOTO Z10's looks, something that we felt was a problem with the Z8 too. It looks pretty much indistinguishable from a whole load of other Motorola handsets, and yet the Z10 (and the Z8 before it) are two very accomplished 3G smartphones.
As with the Z8, this is a "kick slide" phone which actually curves around to make it more natural to use. The Z8 won praise for the slide mechanism, and we expect the MOTO Z10 will follow the same high standards of usability and construction

The MOTO Z10 is a 3.5G device supporting HSDPA high-speed data and UMTS 2100 MHz. It's also a quad-band GSM phone with GPRS and EDGE support. There's no WiFi though, but most buyers won't care too much about that. The display is a 2.2" 320 x 240 pixel panel in 16 million colours.

One weakness with the old Z8 was the camera, and this is much improved on the MOTO Z10. It is now a 3.2 megapixel unit with autofocus, a "Superfast" multishot function and video capture at 30 fps. However, there's no flash and Motorola haven't specified the Z10's video capture resolution. Videos can be uploaded to YouTube or other services, and basic editing can be done within the phone itself. The Z10 also supports video calling.
This is a Symbian UIQ smartphone, as was the Z8. Again, the Z8's software and user interface was very well received, and the MOTO Z10 will build on this. The Z10's media player is also pretty comprehensive, supporting MP3, MPEG4, AAC, AMR, WMA, 3GPP, H.263 and H.264 formats. The Z10 also supports stereo Bluetooth for playback, or it can be used with one of a range of new speaker systems from Motorola.
Memory is expandable up to a whopping 32GB using high-density microSD (SDHC) cards. Overall the Z10 measures 109 x 50 x 16mm and weighs 115 grams. Talktime on the Motorola MOTO Z10 is an impressive 5 hours on 3G, or 5 hours of video playback.
It's not a Nokia N95 killer, but the MOTO Z10 is certainly an impressive, highly-specified phone. If you have a Z8 already, then it might not be worth upgrading quite yet.. the rumours are that Motorola will have some even better phones coming up in the near future, but if the flaws of the Z8 put you off, then the MOTO Z10 does look to be a much improved device.

Motorola say that the MOTO Z10 should be available during Q1 2008, although no pricing information was available at the time of going to press.

Samsung F490 launched

Samsung has decided to launch it’s new 5 megapixel full touch screen phone - Samsung F490 in some strange way.
Since there were no news about this handset at CES this week, I thought they were saving the announcement for the big 3GSM show in Barcelona, next month. But I was wrong. Samsung SGH-F490 is being launched today.
Why waste the opportunity to show off the new phone at the one of the biggest trade shows of the year? And then then issue a press release, about the flagship product, that will likely be lost among the flood of news reports coming from CES?Beats me. But here’s the official Samsung F490 press pics.
And the official Samsung F490 specifications:
Tri band GSM (900/1800/1900), UMTS 2100, HSDPA 3.6 Mbps
3.2″ 262K Color 16:9 Wide Full Touch Display with Haptics feedback
Croix interface
5 mpx camera, video recording (MPEG4, QVGA at 15 fps)
Front camera for video calls
Video playback at 30 fps
130 MB of Internal memory
Built-in mobile Google apps
microSD card slot
standard 3.5 mm headphone jack
Bluetooth 2.0 (A2DP+AVRCP), USB 2.0
Dimensions: 115 x53.5 x11.8 mm
Weight: 102g
Overall, Samsung F490 looks like a real good phone/media player/Internet browsing device in one slim package. Although only 15 fps video recording is a bit disappointing for a device of this class.
Samsung F490 price is expected to be around 500 EUR and it will star shipping in Europe firstVia Gizmos.esEnjoyed the story? Get the news and updates as we publish them. SAMSUNG F700

Seems like every few days another mobile phone vendor tries to steal some thunder from Apple’s much anticipated iPhone. Samsung has now thrown their hat into the ring by throwing down with their own widescreen, touch-sensitive media phone.

The Samsung Ultra Smart F700 features a sleek, modern design that’s a little more rugged looking than Apple’s iPhone. For starters, the F700 has a large, 2.78-inch touchscreen display, running at 240×400 resolution. In addition, it’s got a full QWERTY slide-out keyboard lets you quickly type e-mails and text messages. It’s a full triband GSM phone, with 3G support for EDGE, GPRS,UMTS and HSDPA high-speed wireless service, as well as Bluetooth.

The phone features robust multimedia playback capabilities for MP3 and MP4 files as well as a variety of other formats. The F700 also has a solid 5-megapixel digital camera, with a smaller secondary camera for teleconferencing. A full HTML web browser is also included. While the F700 doesn’t feature some of the fancier features of the iPhone such as the accelerometer or multi-touch display, nor does it offer WiFi access, it does one-up the iPhone with its expandable memory, 3G support and slide-out keyboard.

Keep an eye out for this one later this year.

Review Nokia 7370 Cellular Phone

The Nokia 7370 Cellular phone is the latest and the most inspiring playful cell phone of Nokia series. The Nokia 7370 can be considered as one of the revolutionary design in the cell phone industry. It adds a cool new twist to the world of beauty and style with its fluid swivel design, leather-inspired accents and etched metal surfaces.

window.google_render_ad();
The Nokia 7370 cellular phone is designed to makes heads turn instead of sliding. The Nokia 7370 is available in coffee brown and warm amber design. From our point of view, coffee brown is more suitable for men and warm amber design if more suitable for women for its sharpness in design.
HandCellPhone has both design pictures in this review.
The Nokia 7370 measures 3.46 x 1.69 x 0.91 inches and weighing only 3.67 ounces, easy to carry in your hand, pocket or purse. The 180-degree rotator design with ergonomic tilt swivels open to reveal a tactile keypad that responds to your touch. On the keypad, there are 5-way scroll key, 2 soft keys, sends and end keys, camera Key, volume/zoom key which should looks very familiar to Nokia lovers as the keypad design is very similar to other Nokia cell phones.
This cool design cellular phone comes equipped with 1.3-megapixel digital camera, video recorder, and Mp3 player. The digital camera supports up to 8x digital zooms with different modes like color, black and white, and sepia which add funs in picture snapping. However, from our review, the video recorder is not performing well as our biggest disappointment with it is the video recorder only capture up to 4 minutes movie clip. The integrated music player of the Nokia 7370 supports MP3/AAC/M4A formats which is very handful for users. However, WMA file is not supported for the Nokia 7370. Another cool feature of the Nokia 7370 is the visual radio function that allows us to listen to music and interact with your favorite radio stations.
